About Us
The story of GML Importations is one of cuisine and wanderlust: it all started in 2019, during an extensive trip across Japan, from Tokyo to Nara, via Nagoya, Kyoto and Osaka.
During this gastronomic discovery voyage, Alexandra Madoyan and Gabriel Molleur-Langevin, a passionate culinary chemist and natural fermentation specialist, visited several traditional of miso, sake and soy sauces factories, admiring the delicacy of their processes.
It was then and there that they discovered Marunaka Shoyu, one of the last brewers still handcrafting their products according to the rules of the art, using traditional practices and equipment dating back hundreds of years. The quality of the work, combined with the highest respect for Japanese traditions, convinced them that these products would meet a real need in Canada, facing a growing demand for both authentic and atypical products. GML Importations was created.
The success was immediate: throughout its first year, the company collaborated with twenty-five grocery stores and built partnerships with several Montreal-based restaurants, among which the Noren and RYÙ Sushi.
In 2021, GML Importations was taken over by ARTA Art of the table Inc., with a new and broader vision : provide exceptional products and services in gastronomy and catering business.
